Ryan O’Neal
Having survived leukemia in the 1990s, the Love Story actor announced in 2012 that he had Stage 2 prostate cancer. The diagnosis came three years after the death of his longtime love Farrah Fawcett, who died of complications related to anal cancer. O’Neal successfully treated the cancer, which has been in remission, with medication. O’Neal maintained a positive attitude after his diagnosis and shared some advice, telling People, “I am deeply grateful for the support of my friends and family during this time, and I urge everyone to get regular checkups, as early detection is the best defense against this horrible disease that has afflicted so many.”
