Arnold Palmer
The renowned pro golfer had PSA levels that rose every year until a second prostate biopsy in 1997 revealed early cancer. He had a radical (complete) prostatectomy followed by radiation and suffered no cancer recurrence before his death at 87, while awaiting heart surgery, in 2016. In fact, he was back on the golf course within eight weeks of his cancer treatment, though he reported feeling weaker than he had felt pre-surgery. According to Very Well, he became a prostate cancer activist after his surgery and founded the Arnold Palmer Prostate Center, part of the Eisenhower Medical Center.
